nano colloidal silver is used in a variety of applications. It has antimicrobial properties and is often used in the medical industry, especially in hospitals, where it acts as an effective antiseptic. It is also widely used in the food industry to prevent the growth of bacteria and other pathogens. It is also a common ingredient in skincare products, and it has recently gained popularity as an anti-aging agent.
Manufacturers of these products make many claims about their health benefits and claim that they can treat illnesses such as cancer, HIV/AIDS, shingles, herpes, eye diseases and prostatitis. However, little research has been conducted to verify these health claims. In addition, some manufacturers have been cited by the FDA for making unfounded health claims.
In order to produce a stable, high-quality nano silver product, it must be produced under strict conditions in complete darkness and at low temperature. Additionally, it must be irradiated with specific wavelengths of light in the blue and violet spectrum (above 2.64 electron volt).
It is essential that the cluster/particle size and shape are carefully controlled to a very narrow range and concentration. This is the only way that a highly effective colloidal silver can be produced.
We have tested several products claimed to be ‘colloidal silver’ to see if they met our standards and specifications. The first step was to visually inspect the samples. Next, the UV-Vis spectra were recorded. The results show that MesoSilver and Trace Colloidal Silver have large background absorption, indicating substantial cluster aggregation. The other samples, including Silver Wings and Coated Silver, have a narrow plasmon band and no shoulder at 550 nm showing very uniform nanoparticles.
