Difference between modified and activated Alumina
It is a highly porous solid with a high surface area. It is used as a catalyst carrier and chemical reaction catalyst because its microporous surface exhibits the required catalytic characteristics, including adsorption, surface activity, thermal stability etc.

It also makes the structure uniform and becomes a polymer filler. This improves the performance of alumina composites to some extent. At the same, surface coating metal modifications of the alumina particle powder can improve performance of metal alumina composite materials.
