ws2 powder: Dry Film Lubricant
ws2 powder is an extremely smooth and high performing dry film lubricant, providing an extreme low friction coefficient (COF) of 0.03. It has an impressive axial ratio of c0/na0, which compared to other dry powder lubricants, is very close to zero. It is the only solid lubricant to achieve this superlubricity level.
It is also used as a releasing agent in plastic molds and extrusion molds, where it helps to release the material more quickly. This coating can be applied over a wide range of materials including metals, plastics and other substrates.
Tungsten Disulfide is a solid inorganic compound of tungsten and sulfur that occurs naturally as tungstenite, as well as being synthesized. It is part of a family of inorganic compounds known as transition metal dihalides.
Chemical Formula: WS2
This compound is a component of certain catalysts used for hydrodesulfurization and hydrodenitrogenation, which are the processes that decompose organic matter and create energy by way of water molecules. This compound has a layered structure similar to molybdenum disulfide (MoS2), with W atoms located in a trigonal prismatic coordination sphere.
WS2 is one of the most lubricious substances known to science, with a coeficient of friction (COF) of 0.03. It is also extremely efficient at transferring aptamers, ssDNA and other small biomolecules.
It has a wide temperature range, from -270C to +650C. It is also very inert and practically non-toxic, which makes it an excellent material for use in space.
